According to the latest word from the National Motor Vehicle Theft Reduction Council, the trend of residential burglaries to access car keys is continuing. They go further to say that vehicle keys are the
only property stolen in up to one in four reported burglaries in which a vehicle
is taken. Offenders are also becoming more brazen, prepared to enter even occupied premises to quickly grab keys left in easily accessible spots, often gaining access via unlocked doors or windows.
